    Policy-in-Action Project Analyst, Boston Foot Traffic. With the Boston Main Streets Foundation and the City of Boston, analyzed the mobile vending program and built bostonfoottraffic.com, a research map with 14 recommended push cart sites for a zone-based pilot.

    A semester in Kazakhstan. Study abroad at Nazarbayev University in Astana on the Cason Scholarship, then a second Middlebury summer.     From the Marine Corps to Brown. Left the service in June after five years; started Slavic Studies at Brown in September.

    Head of maintenance, managing a 60-person team overseas. Ran maintenance for a 2,000-person unit during a six-month assignment across Guam and Thailand, keeping a $200M+ equipment portfolio above 80% availability. Also that year: the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, for 500+ hours of animal-shelter work and scuba-diving ocean cleanups.

    Two commendations for turning critical systems around. Two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals: one for restoring satellite communications for a 20,000-person organization and reviving an operation that had been canceled, one for building out a secure communications facility for its operations center.     Black belt, then instructor. Earned a black belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program and spent the next two years training 35 people as a certified instructor.

    Joined the Marine Corps as a communications technician. Satellite and radio systems maintenance, working up from technician to team lead over five years across Japan, Korea, and Thailand.

Web Development Consultant & Managing Editor

  • Designed and built ipeaceandsecurity.org, home of International Peace and Security, a graduate publication of policy briefs from the MPA course Dimensions of International Security.
  • Manage the editorial and production pipeline for 15 policy briefs and a student editorial board as Managing Editor, and maintain the automated news wire (UN, AP, Crisis Group).
  • Rebuilt digital-peacebuilding.com for Brown’s Digital Peacebuilding course with site-wide search and a full ADA accessibility overhaul, and handle its design, hosting, deployment, and performance.
Brown University & Boston Main Streets Foundation Dec 2025 to May 2026

Policy-in-Action Project Analyst

  • Analyzed Boston’s mobile vending program with the Boston Main Streets Foundation and the City’s Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion, and designed a zone-based pilot to replace fixed-site vendor assignment.
  • Built bostonfoottraffic.com, a research map covering 667 million foot-traffic visits with an ADA accessibility classification, and recommended 14 push cart sites for the pilot.
  • Adopted by the City of Boston, whose Office of Small Business confirmed by letter that the heat maps now inform vendor siting, with a pilot site slated for the FY27 push cart program.
  • Awarded the Policy in Action Project Award by the Watson School, May 2026.
United States Marine Corps Mar 2016 to Jun 2021

Maintenance Operations Manager, Satellite and Radio Communications

  • Managed a 60-person maintenance team and a $200M+ equipment portfolio as head of maintenance on a six-month overseas assignment, holding equipment availability above 80% across multinational operations.
  • Designed troubleshooting protocols that cut satellite and radio failures 60% and raised uptime 20%.
  • Cut annual maintenance costs by $500,000 through asset audits and 3-D printed replacement components.
  • Restored satellite communications for a 20,000-person organization, reviving a time-sensitive operation that had been canceled.
